Why did I create Aqua-elements?

Two years ago my partners came to me with the idea of doing a natural cover makeup.  They showed me leading mineral makeup lines and other natural powders.  At first I said “NO” because I’ve tried some of those mineral lines and they didn’t work for my skin as they have a ton of mica and shiny/pearlescent ingredients that settled into lines and wrinkles making me look older!  More importantly they also always left a very unnatural looking “Shiny White Mask” on my skin.

I told my partners if they can come up with something that would provide natural-looking coverage, go on and stay matte and is actually good for our skin I would consider it.  I didn’t hear anything for around a year but then, around nine months ago I was given a first sample of what they called “Aqua-Elements”.  After hearing what’s in it, what some of the ingredients were shown to do and after trying it, Aqua-Elements was better than I ever could have imagined!  It gave me great natural-looking coverage, let my skin breathe (Didn’t feel like I had anything on!) while providing my skin with moisture making it feel softer without the fake looking “Shiny White Mask” look.  Some of the ingredients that were chosen have been clinically studied and shown to have anti-aging beauty benefits and anti-oxidant benefits for the skin.  That means you can use Aqua-Elements not only to look beautiful with fabulous coverage, but also to help protect against free radicals in the environment while you're wearing it.  We worked on it some more and made what I believe is one of the best natural powder makeup around!

What are the challenges with Traditional Liquid Foundation?

To show you how special this makeup is, first let’s look at the number one selling type of coverage makeup – Liquid Foundation.  Most leading Liquid Foundations contain an ingredient list full of chemicals, waxes and oils.  You are putting this stuff on your face.   Also, my issue with most liquid foundations that I’ve used is they go on cakey, tend to leave behind a “Foundation Line” if not properly blended or color matched to your skin and  are very uncomfortable on my face.  They also need to be “set into place” with a powder or else they can move into your fine lines and wrinkles accentuating them making you look older. They also can look creamy and oily on your face which once again makes your pores look larger and acts like a runway to your lines saying “Look at ME!”  They pretty much make me look years older. They do provide more moisture than powder foundations but what comes along with the moisture just isn’t worth it for me.  But liquid foundation is what’s been used for years so women feel they should use it and it’s their best option.  A little trick I’ve learned – never follow convention and always try new things because you simply just never know!

What are the challenges with the leading mineral makeup lines?

Now let’s look at some mineral makeup lines.  They are made of minerals and do not have the chemicals of some liquid foundations.  This is a good thing and is what originally made me want to try them, but some of the minerals they feature are challenging for over 35 skin.  The ingredients typically contain Bismuth Oxychloride (derived from naturally occurring metallic element bismuth & salt), Titanium Dioxide (Oxide of Titanium) and Mica (derived from mineral Muscovite Mica) as their number 1, 2 & 3 items in their ingredient lists.  These ingredients do good things, but they are also the ingredients that leave the “Shiny White Mask” on our face. This may work for young skin (although I don’t even think the “Shiny White Mask” is a good look at any age unless you are trying to become a geisha) but once you’re in your mid thirties, these ingredients are going to settle into your fine lines, wrinkles and pores, exaggerating them and ultimately making you look older.  Another problem with some powder foundations is that they do not provide the moisture of a liquid foundation and as we get older our skin needs more moisture.

What makes Aqua-Elements so special?

Aqua-Elements is a loose powder foundation made of natural ingredients that offers moisturizing benefits to your skin while providing natural-looking coverage.  It will let your skin breathe, and will go on and stay matte throughout the day (no touch ups needed!) without leaving a “Shiny White Mask” but that’s not all …It also gives your skin added moisture and helps protect your skin from free radicals in the environment!  When you put this powder on you are actually going to think there is water on your brush but it’s simply water that is infused into the powder through our very own “Aqua-Fusion” process.

How did we do it?  The key to this makeup is our proprietary formula featuring unique stone mineral elements and our unique Aqua-Fusion manufacturing process.  Our special elixir of minerals includes Malachite, Hematite and Smithsonite which are imported from France.  We chose these ingredients because they have been clinically studied and shown to have anti-aging beauty benefits and anti-oxidant benefits for the skin.  So this just isn’t providing coverage!  It’s makeup that also helps protect your skin from environmental aggressors.

We have also added naturally matte and oil absorbing ingredients Silica and Rice Powder to our formula.  Why?  One of the biggest issues with foundation is the need to “Touch-Up” throughout the day to remove oil or keep the coverage you had when first applied.  Our formula keeps your skin matte and the coverage in place all day “Just set it and forget it!” You will no longer need to carry a powder in your purse!  We have more important things to do than worry about our makeup all day!  Never mind how re-applying more powder during the day makes you look older.  I’ve seen too many women out there with a thick mask of powder or foundation on their face.  We should never hide behind a mask! 

I’ve also made this a Paraben Free formula so it’s gentle on sensitive skin.  Aqua-Elements gives good coverage, while helping to protect your skin from free radicals in the environment.  You'll have natural looking coverage with even skin tone, again without the unnatural “Shiny White Mask” look.

Our manufacturing process, Aqua-Fusion allows our powder to provide moisture.  Here’s how it works, in the formula we have silica beads, which are hollow and will absorb and hold in water.  We have infused water into the silica beads in a stainless steel agitating blender with pressure and temperature controls.  Once the water infusion is complete, the remaining formula ingredients are added and the process is complete. The water filled silica bead will break open by the warmth of skin providing immediate moisturizing benefits.
